A woman named Risikat is one of them and has been at the receiving end of severe social stigma attached to it. Her husband started treating her differently after their children who had the same blue eyes,The Nigerian woman named Risikat told the Punch Newspaper that shewas born with blue eyes and passed it on to her children. In an interview to thelocal media, she recalls no one in her family to have had this issue and thatshe's the first one to have been born with it. Her kids have healthy, normal eyes too. When she was younger her parents were made to run frompillar to post to get her eyes checked, to make sure she had a proper vision. The authorities atschool would repeatedly ask for proof if Risikat was actually their daughterbecause her eyes didn't match theirs. After marriage, Risikat has had to dealwith her husband, Abdulwaisu Omo Dada who wasn't too comfortable with the factthat the children were also born with the same blue eyes.
